Pass+ is closing on 31 October: how to keep your galleries
Photographers using Pass+ have been told the platform is closing, and that work needs to be moved off it by 31 October 2026. This guide sets out what has been reported, what to do first so that nothing is lost, and how moving to Aurant works if you decide to.
What has been reported
According to SLR Lounge (9 September 2026), Pass+ users received a private email and a banner in their dashboard saying the platform is closing, with a deadline of 31 October to move their work. At the time of that report there was no public announcement on passgallery.com, and one photographer outside the US said they had not been contacted at all. Check your own Pass dashboard and email for the details that apply to you.
The same report says Pass+ offers a free, automatic migration to Pic-Time, and that photographers found it fast. That is a reasonable option, and you can still move to another platform later.
First, make sure nothing is lost
Whatever you choose, do this by 31 October:
- Find your originals. Most photographers keep the full-resolution files on their own drives or in Lightroom, and that is the copy worth moving, not whatever a gallery platform kept. Make a list of the galleries you cannot find locally.
- Save what only exists on Pass. For the galleries on that list, look in your Pass dashboard for a way to download them, or use Pass's migration to Pic-Time so they exist somewhere else before the deadline. We could not confirm how downloads work on Pass, so check their own help.
- Write down your clients' favourites. If your clients picked photos in Pass galleries, note or export those picks while you can still see them.
- Tell your clients. Their Pass links will stop working. A short email with the new link, sent once the gallery is ready, saves you a lot of messages later.
Moving your galleries to Aurant
If you decide to move to Aurant, Import galleries (on the Galleries page) takes them in one go:
- Pick a folder on your computer, drop zip files, or paste a Dropbox, Google Drive or zip link and our servers copy it for you. Each folder becomes a gallery, and sub-folders become sets.
- You see every gallery before anything is created: rename them, untick the ones you don't want, and check the storage you need.
- Imported galleries arrive switched off, so no client sees anything until you have checked it and turned it on.
- If your clients made selections, you can bring their picks back in by filename, into the gallery's Favourites.
- If you use Lightroom Classic, the Aurant publish plug-in sends each collection to a folder in Aurant, ready to make into a gallery.
In the app, the “Switching to Aurant” checklist on your Home page walks you through galleries, clients, your domain and the look of your galleries, one step at a time. Choose Pass when it asks where you are coming from.
What Aurant does, and what it doesn't
- Clients open galleries without an account or an app, in English or French, and download full-resolution files.
- Photo and video in the same gallery, on every plan, including Free.
- Contracts, booking and questionnaires on every plan. From the Basic plan, invoices that your clients pay online.
- Aurant takes no commission on what you sell, on any plan.
- Aurant has no print-lab store. Clients can buy downloads or send you a print request, but there is no automatic lab fulfilment. If print sales through a lab are most of your income, Pic-Time is built for that, and we would rather say so.
The Free plan needs no card and includes 5 GB. See pricing for the paid plans and their storage.
