A Pixpa alternative: Aurant vs Pixpa

Pixpa is a website builder for photographers and other creatives: portfolio site, blog, online store and client galleries on one platform, with no commission on sales. Aurant is built around delivery and the client work: files, galleries, invoices, contracts and booking in one account. Here is how to choose.

What we say about Pixpa was checked on Pixpa’s own pages, as of October 2026. Prices and features change, so check their site before you decide.

Choose Pixpa if…

  • You want a full website builder (portfolio pages, a blog and an online store for prints, merchandise and digital products) on the same platform as your galleries.
  • You sell prints and want no commission on any plan, through WHCC, your own lab or self-fulfilment.
  • You need unlimited gallery storage: Pixpa’s client-gallery plans go up to Unlimited, under a fair-use policy.

Choose Aurant if…

  • You want invoices, contracts and booking in the same account: Pixpa’s own blog says it does not currently offer built-in contracts, invoicing, questionnaires or booking automation.
  • You want to start without paying: Aurant has a free plan with no card and no time limit, where Pixpa has a 15-day free trial.
  • You deliver films as well as photographs: Aurant’s Free plan takes video, and films play straight from the link.
  • You or your clients work in French: the app you work in, and every page your clients open, are fully in English and French.
  • Your files must arrive exactly as you exported them: Aurant keeps them at full resolution and never recompresses them.
  • You would rather pay in your local currency by mobile money: in much of Africa, an Aurant plan can be prepaid that way.

Switching from Pixpa

Download your galleries from Pixpa as folders or zip files, then use Import galleries in Aurant: each folder becomes a gallery and its sub-folders become sets, at full resolution. Your client list comes across from Pixpa’s export file. Imported galleries stay hidden until you have checked them.

Questions.

Is Aurant cheaper than Pixpa?
They cover different ground. Aurant has a free plan with 5 GB, and its paid plans start at £9 a month with 200 GB, with invoices, contracts and booking included. Pixpa’s all-in-one plans start at $9 a month and its client-gallery plans at $8 a month, billed monthly, with lower rates for yearly billing (as of October 2026), and include a website builder and store. Check Pixpa’s current prices on their site.
Can I build my whole website with Aurant?
Aurant includes a portfolio site, but it is one page in sections (services, work, about, reviews and contact), with no separate pages, no blog and no store for prints or products. If you want those on the same platform as your galleries, Pixpa is the stronger choice.
Can I sell prints with Aurant?
Not today. Aurant has no print store or lab integration; from Basic, you can sell digital downloads from a gallery if you choose to, at your price, and Aurant takes no cut. If print and product sales matter to your income, Pixpa’s store is the stronger choice.
Can I bring my Pixpa galleries over?
Yes. Download them from Pixpa as folders or zip files, then use Import galleries: each folder becomes a gallery and its sub-folders become sets, at full resolution. Imported galleries stay hidden until you have checked them.
Is Aurant available in French?
Yes, fully: the app you work in, and the galleries and pages your clients open, are in English and French. Pixpa offers multilingual websites through its Gtranslate and Weglot integrations.

Try it on a real job.
